It appears that 2017 will bring a new brand in footwear. Shawn Baravetto, an ex-Nike SB PLM Product line Manager, stated earlier in 2016 that he would launch his own skate shoe brand. It seems like this is happening.
His startup is named “Proper skateboarding”. It is still young, but it already has a talented group of skaters. Beatrice Domond, Nate Guest and others are some of the notable skaters who have joined Baravetto. Proper’s products all feature cupsole construction. Although the shoes are not named, they come with a trusted suede top.
Baravetto’s crew have only three cupsole models, which is a great start. We’ll be keeping an eye out for any new developments from this skater-owned business in 2017 and will keep you updated about them.
