Introducing Lakai’s Sheffield Model, An Evolution Of The Manchester

Being members of a large group of individuals who detest change of any kind, there’s a new development that skateboarders far and wide can get behind.

For as long as Lakai has been a reputable footwear brand, they’ve practically always held the Manchester as a viable option while on your quest for the “perfect shoe.” We’ve all had numerous pairs and, in the unlikely event that you didn’t participate, there was undoubtedly someone in your crew that repped the Flare’s infamous team model at some point.

After a number of years in production, Lakai is evolving their mainstay, upgrading it to the Sheffield. The progression following this heritage model consists of materials and construction that will refresh your relationship with Lakai’s popular team model and simultaneously have you saying, “Why wasn’t it like this before?”. It’s as if your significant other stopped binge watching Netflix and took their ass to the gym; they’re looking hot, even hotter than when you met –  that’s what happened to the Manchester here.

The Sheffield continues to sit on a vulcanized sole and one-piece toe. Notable changes include a reflective material beneath the perforated sidewalls, as well as unique line blocking, which opens up more colorway options throughout the entire upper. Additionally, a breathable mesh window throughout the interior should make for less foot funk when sessions go longer than planned.

You can find a slew of new colorways of the Sheffield atop Lakai’s new vulcanized outsole for $68 online and at your local skate shop.

meine-fave was the first-run of the manc’; upon first glance, it reminded me of a ninjabootie (re. black w/gumsole).
