Skateboarding’s most beloved Canadian union celebrates their one year anniversary with another significant release from Vans. While no bananas were harmed in the making of their latest commercial, some child-like nostalgia might never be the same for anyone watching.
Whether intentional or not, the correlating 90’s vibes between the commercial and the re-release of the Vans Fairlane are at an all-time high. Or maybe it’s a re-re-release considering the fact that this happened not too long ago. Regardless, the #PuffySkateShoeComeback has been amongst us for sometime now, but it’s ever-more prevalent with Vans & DIME bringing out the Fairlane in a colorway that Gucci Mane himself would gladly approve of.
Anyone looking at the Fairlane with a mean side eye can collectively calm down, as the popular 90’s model has been updated to take on the abuse of today. The shoe itself still holds the same admired aesthetic, but has been gutted from the inside out to ensure a quality fit and performance. Some updated features include the popular Vans Ultracush HD sockliner, as well as the Pro Lite cupsole construction.
The Fairlane is joined by two classic Old Skool Pros, available in Blue Nights/White and Marshmallow White/White.
The Vans X Dime capsule will be available on September 10 exclusively at the Vans X Dime Pop-up in Montreal’s Plateau neighborhood. The pop-up shop opens from the 10th to the 17th of September.
