Back in March of 2016, Lakai dropped a bomb on the skate shoe community by re-releasing the much-demanded Staple. Coming back in a collection of updated colorways, the newly vulcanized Staple pleases both the new and older-school mentality. Sure, this then-cupsole was not a vulcanized model, but its return in colorways that enthusiasts know from their younger days of skating is not only nostalgic, but presently relevant.

Since March, we’ve all been anticipating new colorways of the Staple, and while we were all tricked into thinking it was being taken away from us just as soon as we got it, here it is in two new colorways for Fall ’16.

A jaw-dropping Black/Gum & Varsity Red with a white sole debut today on There’s no denying how good the Black/Gum colorway looks, but something about that Varsity Red looks just as solid. It’ll be hard to pick between these two, but if you were to get them, which ones would you go with?

The Staple is only available in anchor shops, so be sure to call your local skate shop and see if they have them in your size.
