Boo Johnson Teases Us With Diamond’s Upcoming Slip-On

Even the dogs seem curious to know about this new shoe…

After our overview of the best Slip-Ons to look forward to this year, we were soon alerted to what could be a glimpse at Boo Johnson’s pro model on Diamond Footwear. While rumors continue to circulate around the validity of Boo receiving a pro model so soon, there’s no question that Diamond Footwear could benefit from having a notable pro represent his own signature shoe.

In our guide to slip-on options, we briefly spoke on how difficult it is to truly innovate a shoe that benefits from being simple, and here we are again witnessing a slip-on that looks like none other.

With a paneled layer of suede added to the top of this mysterious model’s upper, we could only surmise that one could gain some extra padding in the event that the board comes flying back down at you after kicking it away. To add to that, upon closer review, you’ll notice that Diamond is continuing to utilize a neoprene sockliner system just as they did with their Folk mid slip-on model.

With more information pending, we’ll be sure to keep you posted with developing details as everything comes to light. As it stand right now, it looks like Diamond is going above and beyond with their new skate division.

Looks like a tech slip-on. The revolution has begun

The sock liner poking out of the top, where the tounge is looks awkward, it literally looks like someone stuffed a Nike aqua sock into a Vans slip on. Don’t know, tech features are welcome in any skate shoe, but overtly making it a part of the aesthetic of classic skate shoes, slip ons in particular, just doesn’t mix.

Wow, totally disagree with everything you said. The combination of tech and slip is really dope. Potentially the the best if not only way to make the classic slip on (which every brand literally does exactly the same) look new and different. If it didn’t have the sock liner I have to imagine you’d blow it off as just another slip on.
