When skating high impact spots, it’s essential to have shoes that will without a doubt protect your feet. In this installation of My Shoe Mashups, we bring you a thin cupsole that not only protects your feet from heavy impact, but will also last.
Why it works
Upper – Emerica Reynolds Low Vulc
- classic design, one-piece toecap
- lightly padded tongue and collar + tongue-centering straps
Aside from being a great and simple vulcanized shoe, there’s just something special about skating one of Andrew Reynolds’ Emerica models.
Toecap – Adidas Matchcourt
- rubber toecap
- improved durability
It’s no surprise why rubber toecaps have become such a popular feature in modern skateboarding footwear, vastly improving the lifespan of shoes in the kickflip area.
Sole – Nike SB Bruin Hyperfeel
- no midsole
- thick, replaceable insole
- flex grooves
- arch support
- extremely grippy
Even though cupsoles mimicking vulcanized soles are almost a standard feature in skate shoes nowadays, the Bruin Hyperfeel manages to do this in a way that is new and extremely functional.
After combining all of these features we’re left with The Reynolds Hypercourt – a thin and stylish piece of footwear that has exceptional durability in the kickflip area and some of the best boardfeel and impact protection available.
What 3 shoes would you mash into 1?
