Coffee & Skateboarding, A Bitter Yet Sweet Tale

The correlation between skateboarding & coffee is closer than you think. As we reflect on “National Coffee Day”, we got a hold of our morning jitters to surmise all of the wonderful collaborations that have come from two of our favorite things: Coffee and Skateboarding.

QS – Ice & Coffee T-Shirt
Of all the parodies that have come from Thrasher’s iconic “Skate and Destroy” t-shirt, this QS Coffee-based one-off has got to be our favorite. Aside from being prone towards the iced option over the traditional hot serving, this shirt somehow still possesses the message from Thrasher’s original shirt, while representing our preferred method of drinking coffee. Iced, all day, even in the winter.

Andrew Reynolds’ Skateboarding
It’s no secret that Andrew Reynolds is a renown coffee lover. Aside from finding him sporting the iconic green straw from Starbucks on a day-to-day basis (or not), he’s even gone as far as endorsing his love for a good cup of joe with some of his skate products. Would it be wrong to think, talent aside, that Andrew Reynolds has probably landed some of his most amazing tricks with the assistance of a cup of coffee? In our eyes, if true, it doesn’t even take away. If anything, it’s actually cooler. #CoffeeSponsorWorthy

Lifeblood’s Coffee Cruiser
Quite possibly the most popular of the skateboarding-coffee blends (pun intended), the Lifeblood Coffee Cruiser has been embraced on every level. Being one of the more simplistic yet iconic underground deck graphics, many have collectively categorized it as a mandatory Wall Hanger. Whether skated or hung, the Coffee Cruiser is essential for those deconstructing their enamel with every sip of their morning cup. More over, the shape itself is pretty dope.

Chico Brenes & His Nicaraguan Blend of Coffee
Lets be honest, very few skateboarders can handle the responsibilities that come with a lengthy career in professional skateboarding. For those skateboarders turned businessmen, the responsibilities only heighten but are feasible. Now, when you throw in a worthy cause, such as creating a community of skateboarders in what’s essentially considered a 3rd world country, you’ve most definitely got your hands full. So goes the story of one of our favorites, Chico Brenes. When he’s not celebrating his latest DVS pro model, working on the LRG video or assisting those in his country of Nicaragua, he’s working on hosting the finest beans through Central. We haven tried it yet but have a great feeling that Chico knows what a good cup of coffee tastes like.

éS Coffee Collection
As one of the greatest comeback stories in the history of skateboarding, éS footwear has got their work cut out for them. After being on hiatus for a number of years, éS footwear is bound to work with a number of themes in an effort to rebuild their historically-renown skate shoes. One of the better themes, as we’re sure you’ll agree, is their latest coffee pack. Whether cupsole or vulcanize, their offering are coming in quite possibly their best colorway yet. If only it gave you a caffeinated high every time you slipped them on. That éS coffee cup is too ideal for those not so rushed morning cup(s) of coffee.

Also the Magenta coffee cruiser… and there was once a Habitat clip called “cruising for coffee” with silas where he stopped for coffee 5 times or so.
