Then & Now with Erik Ellington – Part 1

Behind the scenes shot of Ellington with his slew of pro models from over the years.

It’s undeniable that Erik Ellington has achieved living legend status within the skateboarding world. His style, dedication and video parts are only a fraction of what’s made him the professional that he is today.

What most might not know is how involved Erik is with all of his products. As with his pro models, anything product-related to Erik has to be meticulously looked at and approved by him. Every material, design and trinket that you’ve ever taken for granted on his products has been thought over to no end by EE. The pride and value that he takes in his endorsed-goods goes beyond any of our expectations. To say the least, he cares about the end product. He knows that you’ll be skating it and in turn, supporting him and by no means does he take that for granted. We had no idea how involved he was until we found out from talking to him during the Agenda show in Long Beach.

Rather than resting and letting his Bakerboys team set up their booth, we found Erik lugging his collection of priceless skate shoes around in a duffel bag just so he can do this interview and then help set-up the booth. No task is too small for Erik, not even a shoe retrospective for this site. Talk about dedication. Thanks & enjoy.

Part 2, coming soon.

If this Ellington 3 came out for Emerica, easily would’ve been one of my all time favorites. I loved the éS accell shoe. Wish he re-releases it on Supra. Can’t wait for part 2

Ellington is the best, really. The guy is so well-spoken. If skateboarding ever needed a spokesman who keeps it raw and slays it in every single one of his video parts – this is the guy.

That Emerica 3 was lookin’ darn good; what could’ve been…

And always like the underdog product that companies green light. Pretty rad when they wind up being best sellers.

    Much Aloha!

I fucking love EE. His shoes are the shit and he seems like a super good dude that thinks he would be too good for anyone despite how big he is. Its sick that he is super involved in all of his products so heavily, that is probably why all of his shit is the bomb. Super hyped. Everyone should try his shoe The Ellington – #bestinthegame
