Team Changes: Some Coke Whites For A Flare

In the latest Team Addition news, insanely talented Miles Silvas has left Lakai for some of that irresistible Adidas money Footwear. While most of us were unsure at first, its finally been confirmed after Lakai pulled Miles from their team page. More so, Miles has been embracing the 3 striped brand on his insta.

Coincidentally, Nakel has jumped the Lakai ship for the same enticing Adidas spot. It looks as though Lakai, along with other skater-owned brands, appears to be more of a launching pad for bigger brands with bigger budgets when scouting for talent. No surprise there…

With dubstep parts outta sight, we can now embrace incredible parts like Jamie Tancowny’s LE part. Word on the street is that he’s off of Emerica because his skills didn’t cut the budget’s expectations. Disney collabs and Marana money are now funding Jamie now that he’s getting flow from Etnies.

If no other interview has ever convinced you to like an otherwise lame skater, Brink and crew have done the impossible by making Chaz seem like a regular skate rat (despite his eyebrow designs). His latest Weekend Buzz with Bastien is a must watch, plus Chaz even shines some light on the flop that is Lil Wayne’s Spectre. We won’t hold our breath for that Supra announcement but it would be fitting.

Timely reminder: A shoe (& deck) brand seriously needs to pick up Bastien…

How good does Tom K look on 3D? Were those all leather NB# Brighton Hi’s? Need to hit them dudes up for a box…

That Nollie pull-in was super chill. Danny Dicola is bringing some flavor to Vox. Solid move for both parties.

Lastly, can someone please take a magnifying glass to that latest Eswic tour video? We heard that James Hardy is off Fallen but has quickly found another home. Where do you guys think he fits? Dekline? Through Dakota connect possibly? Hmm…

We’ll be back on Monday with another one of these.

Chaz doesn’t shave his eyebrows. He has a scar that goes through his eyebrow so hair doesn’t grow there anymore. I thought you would have known that RL considering how much research you guys do.

Both Chaz and and Bastien are lame. Never liked anything they have done. People leaving smaller shoes to bigger brands is what I am afraid of. I am afraid of over saturationn of “Big” teams. Getting tons of riders on, big roster and then dropping people for no coverage or because they are old or not getting them coverage cuz they only pick up who is trending. One day everyone will ride for a few major brands, then they will let em all go in one big collapse. KA-BOOM. End of skateboarding (Well make it dead 3 times. late 80s die out… and that lull between 03-08 was a scary one too). Shoes are going major brand only, our favorite companies growing up are going out of style or mismanaged til death, maybe the big brands will consolidate into a few board companies too. and it will surely die. I like small brands, 3d, fucking awesome, but i have been riding deluxe shit for a long time. is Deluxe core or branded out now? I love the Gonz but he is an Adidas rat and god damnit they make some damn good ass skate shoes. Fuck. I hope skateboarding dies, so I don’t have to see fully padded and helmeted kids getting geared up in Nike Janoskis with purple laces cheered on by their parents at skate parks pushing mongo on their penny penny cruisers. I want people lurking in an alley because they saw a bump to curb that looked awesome to get some tricks on. People who are in the secret club, look down at another ones scuffed shoes and know “they skate.” People on the fringe, hate sports, unpopular, not a dime to their name kids skating. Being on the edge where others go whoa that is cool, but they can never be you. You can spot the posers right away skateboarding. It exists in some crews, you can see it in the eyes of some people who get it, but the rest of the world lost what skating is. I am afraid for skateboarding, but I am hopeful. If it dies, there are a few who know how to resurrect the beast.

Amen, brotha, amen, (except I like to push mongo… minor stuff anyways) Yeah I totally feel what you are saying. I always love to root for the little guys, I miss my Habitat decks, my Kreper trucks (freaking great trucks, unquestionably unique style), one day nobody’s gonna know what Tensor OG Slider lows are… Skateboarding will always mean the most to us, those people that do it just for fun, the people who look at a perfectly smooth sidewalk leading up to a 5 set and a buttery smooth landing sayin “dayuum! can’t believe I never paid attention to that before!” It’s sad one day names like Jamie Thomas, Chris Haslam and PJ Ladd will be forgotten. It’s all good though, death is part of the cycle of life, and when skateboarding gets reborn, with all the high tech shoes and boards etc. we will see some crazy stuff and perhaps invent a few new tricks along the way

Adidas have been scoping out a lot of Lakai riders. They took Lucas Puig and Cory Kennedy when he was an am for Lakai.
