G-Code!!! VS G6

Everyone is scared of change. The fact that states want to secede after a black dude promised them change 4 years ago is the best example we’ve got. It’s universal but understandable.

Especially in terms of product; if it’s worked so well for you, why would you want it to be discontinued? That seems to be everyone’s concern with the release of the new G6. Everyone is hyped for it, but have been wondering what’s going to happen to their beloved G-Code!!!. Well, we’re going to break some hearts because the G-Code!!! is going to be discontinued after spring of 2013. The summer ’13 catalog appears to only feature the new Reynolds shoe and the G6.

The G-Code!!!’s popularity has been recognized worldwide because of its functionality & durability, but the G6 will soon take its place. Being one of the few people to receive their G6s before the general public, we’ve got to say that you should be embracing it. The G-Code!!! is one of our favorite shoes of all time but, in all honesty, once you lace up the G6, you’ll move on. In comparison, the G6 is much slimmer, more flexible, carries the same G-Code!!! genetics and is light as fuck. The only thing we’re still trying to figure out is how durable the G6 is compared to the G-Code!!!. Personally, the puffy tongue was one of our favorite features. Are we saying RIP to the last puffy tongue shoe on the market…?

All puffy tongues aside, we’ll try to make the grieving process a little easier by explaining the differences between the two.

G-Code G6
As the result of padding, heavier Lighter
Bulkier Customized Shape
More paneled padding Less padding, making it flexible
Shortened height of the toe Toe is slightly taller
Prone to stiffening in the toe Durable & deep outsole
Herringbone outsole Non-Slip grip triangle tread

For all the reasons above & more, you’ll understand why the G6 is one of the most highly anticipated shoes of 2012-13. Aside from its remarkable upgrade, the colorways coming out in 2013 do not disappoint. With the differences listed, the only thing being carried over from G-Code!!! to the G6 is the reinforced toe. Although because the toe is taller, expect a better & stronger flick along with some added durability.

At this point, you have to buckle to your knees and admit that the G6 is going to kill it. There’s substantial evidence backing it & we also took the liberty of sharing some of the most high tech features about it. The slideshow below was a part of the media presentation for our eyes only, but we snagged some pics and want to show you guys what else is going on in the G6. There are even more details that aren’t even comparable to the G-Code.

After all this, are you still scared of change?
Make sure you lace up the G6’s soon at your local shop.

So is Emerica only making the G6 and new Reynolds shoes after summer? None of the other pro shoes (Hsus, Hsu 2s, Reynolds 3, Crusiers, etc) were in that catalog.

No, they’re still going to have some of their well known shoes coming out but you can tell that Emerica is mainly going to be concentrating on the G6 & Reynolds shoe for 2013.

You guys should make a topic where you compare this, the Emerica G6, with the Etnies Marana. Both look great but which of the two is gonna be better?

I don’t know Mark, it’s hard to say.

I mean if we’re talking in terms of durability, then we’re going to go with the Etnies Marana because of it’s indestructible exterior. But if we’re talking about style & comfort, maybe we’d give the upper hand to the G6.

We’ll keep you posted if we ever put it out though, thanks for the recommendation.

I bought g6 shoes in maroon color and they peeled on my first day. The suede is very soft and frail. I think Emerica has to better the g6 shoes about suede and glue!
