First Glance: Emerica Herman G6

HermanG6FGThe debut of the G6 is probably the most anticipation Emerica has ever expected from consumers. It’s easy to understand why if you’re in the know. They’ve been rigorously working on the shoe for 14 months and have been completely concentrated on every aspect of the shoe. The team, along with head footwear designer August Benzien, have been stressing & perfecting every detail of this shoe. Chances are, if you have any criticism about the G6, August already spent his days & nights working to fix it. After months and months of seeing its potential, you can imagine how much of a relief it is to debut the shoe everyones been talking about.

The celebrations kicked off right away with a select few getting the opportunity to skate the G6 before their commercial release. Never before, in the history of being a little spic boy, did we expect to be blessed with this gift. It was like a traditional spanish christmas except no one got arrested, our uncles and aunts didn’t dry hump on the dance floor and no one thought it’d be cute to put tequila in the baby’s formula (theres always a baby at spanish parties). Everyone was there too; Dee, Donut, Slash, Nuge, a slew of media/ industry dudes and lastly, Mr.Herman himself. Bryan was found skating his newest shoe and his skating never looked so incredible. The fact that he did a back crook, nollie heel out, practically first try is still processing in our brains.

You’ve heard all about the new technology Emerica is bringing to the table but now we want to fill you in on how the G6 actually skates.

Initial Thoughts:
-Noticeably lighter than the G-Code.
-First flick from a kickflip was one to remember; it was incredibly smooth.
-Flexible & perfect to skate out of the box.
-Injected foam always bounces back & feels great under our feet.
-Lightest cupsole we’ve ever skated.
-Cool air intake actually works.

All of these notes were from skating the shoe within the first hour. Now that we’ve progressively skated the G6 more, these initial notes have proven to hold up. There isn’t one aspect of the G6 that we can pick as a favorite; the shoe as a whole is perfect. The breathability is insane. I mean, we felt a fucking breeze fly through our foot! It’s amazingly lightweight for a cupsole & doesn’t carry the bulky resemblance we’re used to.

If the east coast winter doesn’t shit on us, expect the full review this December.

12.12.12 mark that as the day Emerica became the technologically progressive skate shoe company that they were founded to be. No more of that herringbone grip that wears out in a week or poor construction (De-lamination, irregular shape or materials). When you pick up the shoe you immediately notice it feels nothing like the rest of the Emerica’s. Which is good news, if you really skate.

These are the sickest things ever….. last pair of emericas I had were Reynolds 3’s. I loved those shoes and they skated great, but these g6’s look like God designed them, and Jesus skates them. Absolute perfection

These are fuckin gnar, but I’m anticipating the new reynold shoe a lot more. Hate skating low tops. This is a huge step in the right direction for emerica though.
