When going to Agenda LB, one of the mandatory stops is the Axion booth. This year, it was better than ever. Kyle Nicholson was shooting Cee-lo and taking peoples money, Maldonado was sitting back like a boss & Manny was all over the place. It was tough getting a hold of the Ammo pro but we managed to get him to share some words on his new signature pro model from Axion.
Manny ran us through some of the details of his shoe but couldn’t shed too much light because it’s still going through the development stages. You can tell from just looking at this sample that it’s a clean one piece toe silhouette that is wrapped with suede throughout. The upper is topped off with nylon material for style & durability.
Manny walked us through this 90’s throwback lacing system that has two ways of functioning. You could go the traditional route of lacing or use the hidden lace option to prevent any abrasion against the laces. Underneath, Manny used the Axion outsole and explained to us why: “it’s one of the best soles I have ever skated and combined with the top, it’s a complete success. I’m super hyped on how it came out, hope you all enjoy it.”
We couldn’t be more hyped on how it came out too. If you all remember or if you’re all nerds like us, it’s very similar to the RJ DC shoe from back when. It’s very relieving to see an individual pay homage to 90’s skate culture & remain just that, an individual. This shoe has Manny written all over it and we can’t wait to get a pair to review asap. The Manny Santiago Pro Model is scheduled to drop around April with a huge release party in the near future.
